Local Scholarships

This is a list of scholarships that have been received by Dalhart High School throughout the past year. Scholarship availability, amounts, deadlines and requirements may have changed. Please refer to and follow the guidelines on each application carefully. Updates will be made as they are received. 

Please be aware of where to turn in your scholarship applications. We will not deliver applications for you. We will only accept scholarships that state they are to be turned in to the Dalhart High School Counseling Center. Also, Dalhart High School only handles applications for DISD students. If you are not a DISD student please turn your application in to the person/organization who is offering the scholarship.
Qualifying for Free and Reduced School Meals could provide additional benefits for students:

Cleo Jenkins Scholarship & Bonnie DeJarnett Scholarship
  • Complete copy of the 2018 Federal Student Aid Report
  • Must have graduated from a high school located in Dallam or Hartley County
  • Have continuously resided in Dallam or Hartley County for the past 2 years prior to application
  • Be able to fulfill all requirements as noted in the guidelines and application forms
  • SAT or ACT scores must be included
  • Turn in Guidelines attached to application

Burke Bell Memorial Scholarship
  • A resident of Dallam, Hartley, Sherman, or Moore Counties of Texas
  • "B" Average (80 or above)
  • A well rounded student with a good attitude.
  • This scholarship must be hand-written or information typed and turned in with application.  It is not available in Word or fillable form.

  • 4 years of Band credit
  • DHS graduating senior

  • Any graduating senior planning a career in education OR a graduating senior of DHS who is pursuing a degree of choice whose parent is a member of DCTA

Dalhart FFA Ag Booster Club Scholarship
  • Must be a graduating senior from Dalhart High School
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA
  • Must have been enrolled in a Dalhart Vocational Agriculture class for at least 3 of the 4 years in high school and an active member of the Dalhart High School FFA chapter
  • Must be attending either a 2-4 year college or 2 year vocational/technical school

  • Must be graduating Senior from DHS.

Lisa Lovato Memorial Music Scholarship
  • Must be a graduating Senior from Dalhart High School.
  • Must have been involved in a musical program in high school or in the community. 
  • Choral students will be given priority, but all students involved in a musical program will be considered.

  • Graduate of Dalhart High School
  • Possess 2.5 cumulative High School GPA
  • Exhibit academic initiative, leadership skills and a respect for the environment
  • Plan to attend an accredited college/university as a full-time student (12 units or more)

  • Possess 2.5 cumulative High School GPA
  • Selected on academics, extra-curricular involvement, leadership, community service, essay, financial need and recommendation letters
